Pilot Validation Sites

Within the framework of the URB-Grade DaaS platform (by means of its instantiations ) 3 Pilot District Profiles will be setup for the validation of the approach for different types of consumers in 3 different locations                 

  • Eibar: Street Lighting
    • Main Target: The assessment of the Current Street Lighting Systems deployed in Eibar, and the support for deciding which actions and in which city areas should be taken to reduce the consumption without compromising the quality of the service.
    • Expected Impact and Potential Exploitation of Results: The Use Case of Street Lighting will be addressed in Eibar, which is a common problem across Europe, so the lessons learned will be directly migrated to similar future scenarios.                      

                                                                                                                                                             

  • Barcelona: Street Shops     
    • Main Target: The assessment of the street‐shops consuming profile in Barcelona and the support for deciding which actions and in which street‐shops should be taken to reduce the consumption without compromising the comfort.
    • Expected Impact and Potential Exploitation of Results: The Use Case of Street‐Shop consumption will be addressed in the Electricians Association of Barcelona, making possible that individual SME Electrician Company can evaluate their small client’s consumption with complex methods that currently can only be used by larger utility companies and ESCOs to improve big installation profiles.  Street‐Shop consumption approach will be directly migrated to similar future scenario across  Europe.
  • Kalundborg: Residential Homes:
    • Main Target: The assessment of the use of consumption profiles of residential homes in Kalundborg and the support for  policy decisions to improve the energy efficiency.
    • Expected Impact and Potential Exploitation of Results:  
      • Residential homes case: The impact will be on the evaluation of effectiveness of green campaigns targeting residential homes. Specifically the exploitation of the DaaS platform targets:
        • identify best practice for information in the context of retrofitting of residential homes;
        • understand the maximum energy and cost savings that can be reached by information and recommendations using green campaigns;
